![]() ![]() I won’t be using some popular song as my phone ringer, but it’s nice to have more options for setting up custom ringtones for contacts (such as different sounds that play when my wife or my parents call). Making the process easier has prompted me to take another look. I’ve never gotten excited about ringtones, largely because it seemed silly to spend money for little audio snippets, and because converting and adding audio files for other phones seemed like a hassle. An Advanced option lets you synchronize iTunes playlists instead. The files are copied to the iPhone and appear in the Sounds preference pane. To add audio files, simply drag them to iToner’s iPhone-like window and press the Sync button. What’s notable about iToner is that it doesn’t require any iPhone hacking software to work. (The release of iTunes 7.4 broke the capabilities of iToner 1.0, which prompted the 1.0.1 update late last week.) Change the filename for this file only (you will have to do that for each ringtone, but if you go ahead and say yes to using m4r for all aac files, all of your audio files will be converted to ringtone format).Ħ. Use iToner to remove any existing ringtones.ģ. I uninstalled iToner and iTunes and reinstalled iTunes and it still doesn't work.Ģ. I tried restoring my iPhone 3G and that didn't work. I've tried syncing my other iPods (iPod video and iPod touch) to see if it messes up with those but it does not. Nothing in the my photos folders have changed. It sync photos for about 15 seconds after it finishes syncing. When I click the sync button, the sync button freezes for 5 seconds and then it starts syncing then it finishes syncing but it says that it is syncing photos. Now when I sync with iTunes, it just goes crazy. When you first load it up it says that it must restart iTunes to make the program work. Last night I downloaded a program to my Mac called "iToner." It makes any songs of yours Ringtones and syncs your iPhone 3G with the program not with iTunes to get the ringtones on your iPhone. I have an iMac and I always sync my iPhone 3G without a problem until today. ![]()
